I suddenly am having trouble adding music files to my slideshows after doing several successfully. I have ripped music CD's to my windows media library, and they go to a file in "my Music". I then send the file after converting them to MP3 to my computer/program files/Pixplay.
However, I am doing something wrong, because I can find the file by browsing for it, but the file does not open. It's like it is in a subfolder, and I can't open it. I can see the whole file, but am having trouble sending individual songs to my slideshows.
I feel kind of silly, since I had no trouble doing this before now. Trouble is, I don't do it often enough to remember the steps in which I got the songs to appear in the Pixplay music files.
Can you tell me what I am doing wrong??
Thanks!
Bette

I found the easiest way was to go to my Windows Media Music Library, and highlight the song I wanted, then go to file/save. I'll have to write this way down, so I don't forget next time.

Thanks!

You say "I tried to send a copy of each song file I want to program files/dvdpixplay/music files." You must copy and save it to the following:

C:\Program Files\DVD PixPlay\Music

The spacing and wording must be exact or else it will not be copied and saved in this file.

Also the fact that it is a regular icon and not a music icon would indicate that you are not creating a music file. I would recommend you send one of your "music files" to Nigel so he can review it.

Send it to :

It shows it as a regular file icon, not a music one. And I have to click on it twice to open it in My Music. Once it is open, each song in it is revealed. It's like it is put in a subfolder, so when I go to browse for it, it does not open.
And I do convert them in my media first to MP3 format. Then I tried to send a copy of each song file I want to program files/dvdpixplay/music files. And I have received no error messages.

I must be doing some step in this process differently, because you would think sending a copy of a file to program files/pix/music it would show up there.
How can I tell if it is in a hidden file?

Just store all your music for DVD PIXPLAY in the following folder:

C:\Program Files\DVD PixPlay\Music

then when you need Background music all you have to do is browse to this location.

Are you sure the files are in MP3 format, and not something else like WMA?

If you are browsing the correct folder the only reason a file should not be displayed is if it is not MP3 or WAV, or it is marked as a hidden file in Windows Explorer.

Hi Bette

Does the item you are trying to open have the icon of a folder or a music one?

Do you get any error messages?
