Posted - Jan 29 2009 : 16:52:30 Is there a way to create a slideshow with Pixplay mixing still images with a couple short video sequences in the same slideshow?
If so, how do you do that, or will I need another program to do that? Thanks again, Bette |

Posted - Feb 02 2009 : 12:15:43 Hi Bettie
If your videos contains sound then they will need to go before your images if you want to hear that sound, i.e.
NO VIDEO SOUNDTRACK AVAILABLE (ONLY BACKGROUND MUSIC):
IMAGE 1 VIDEO 1 IMAGE 2 VIDEO 2 IMAGE 3
VIDEO SOUNDTRACK CAN BE USED:
VIDEO 1 VIDEO 2 IMAGE 1 IMAGE 2 IMAGE 3
If you add all of your images and videos to a slideshow then you can easily arrange them into this order automatically by selecting Edit>Advanced>Move Videos to Start

Posted - Jan 31 2009 : 05:16:57 Bettie I understand your problem as I have experienced the same. You cannot insert digital photos between video clips. A way round the problem , which is not perfect but gives good Dvd slide show results, is to keep your Camera set to Video and take short two second shots. These can then be inserted between longer clips and if the technic is used with thought can give a professional looking Show. You need a good size media card in the camera. You have two options with the sound either record a commentory as you create the clips on the camera or select music using the pixplay software. BEWARE if you create long slide shows using the first method, over 30 minutes approx, the sound moves ahead of the vision. Nigel is looking into this at this moment. trust this helps

Posted - Jan 30 2009 : 15:09:30 Sorry, but I'm confused what you mean by "can only use the soundtrack of the videos". What I mean is this....If I want to put a bunch of digital pictures into a slideshow, and on the same media card are some sections where I used the digital movie mode to make a short video clip, can these two things be combined into one slideshow? I wouldn't know how to add a video clip along with still images that change when you set them to.
Hope this makes sense.. Thanks! |

Presently DVD PixPlay can only use the sound track of the videos in a slideshow if there are no images (except after the final video). So you will need to do as follows:
i. Remove any title pages and images from your project (or move all of the videos to the start of the slideshow using the function Edit>Advanced>Move Videos to Start) ii. Select Edit>Slideshow Properties on the menu and choose the "Background Music" tab
iii. Choose the option to "Maintain the soundtrack of the video files" (if the option is disabled then there are images or title pages placed before the videos in your project).
iv. Optional: If you have images at the end of your slideshow, then you can choose some music for them (i.e. that plays after the videos have completed)
