I have made quite a few slideshows successfully since getting Pixplay a year ago. I have found that burning them in the DVD format seems to be more compatible with the DVD players my friends have.
However, at a gathering of family at my daughters house where I most wanted to show people a slideshow, the slideshow played fine, but there was no audio. I tried it on another tv, and it worked fine. Her player would play other movies just fine with sound, but not my dvd with sound.
I didn't write down which model of dvd player she owns,( it's new) but I know she has her dvd player and vcr all hooked up to her Dish Network system, even her local channels. I have the same set up in my house, and I have no trouble playing these slideshows. I have to go to input 2, then play the shows. With her tv, to get the blank screen, I pushed the tv/video button on her set.
So what could be the problem in that you can get the player to read the disk, but not play the music? I used a dvd-rw disk.

A few things to try:
Is the sound muted?
Is the volume up?
Did you disable the analog output on the DVD player (some players turn off the analog out if the digital output is engaged)?
Did you turn off the TV speakers in the menu (some TVs have this option)?
Does the DVD player have its own volume control (doubtful, but not impossible)?
You say "I have the same set up in my house, and I have no trouble playing these slideshows." so compare your setups to her's more than anything else it is probably the dvd player itself is not compatible. Check the connections are they S Video or HDMI? These make a big difference.
Try those ideas and post back.

You said to check the tv and dvd player settings. What specifically do you look for in those settings?
Like I said, her player plays purchased DVD's with no problems with the audio. |

DON'T CHNAGE ANYTHING!!!!
Since you " tried it on another tv, and it worked fine" and "I never went in to these advanced settings to change anything, since the shows I made before worked for both the players in my house" then there is no reason to change your settings.
Most likely the settings on your daughter's Dish Net are set differently and she should check the TV and DVD player settings. Also on some dvd players the remote control of the dvd will override the settings on the TV.

Do you mean the line "audio format for DVD compliant MPegs"? It was set on Mpeg layer 2. Since hers is the only one I have encountered an audio problem on, should it be changed just when I make shows for her, or leave it at the other setting?
And I also noticed in the user interface style line that Office XP was selected. Since I don't have the office version of windows XP, I assume I should change it?
I never went in to these advanced settings to change anything, since the shows I made before worked for both the players in my house. |

Hi
Under View>Options, Advanced what "DVD MPEG Audio" Setting were you using.
Does changing it resolve the problem?
