Posted - Jun 25 2009 : 08:40:02 After having successfully burned about half a dozen DVDs in the past using DVD PixPlay --- I am now unable to get a playable result. I'm using the same discs as before, and the program reports a completed burn after about 5 hours, but when I try to play the disc in any of three DVD machines, none of them is able to recognize the disc. Any ideas on what might be the problem? I don't want to switch to a different software as I like what I have done with PixPlay in the past. I have two DVD slide shows ready to burn, but after 4 failed attempts now, I need some help before giving up on PixPlay. - Jim Archibald Vancouver Island, BC, Canada

Posted - Jun 27 2009 : 10:35:40 Thanks to the help and support offered by Nigel & Jim, I have once again found a successful conclusion to my problem. This proves once again that paying to register software with the people who developed it is absolutely worth while. Thanks again to both of you. I am now able to continue to enjoy the best DVD burning software I have seen and I've tried a few others before settling on DVD PixPlay. Not only is it the best -- it keeps getting better AND the after sales support is terrific!!

Posted - Jun 26 2009 : 10:54:44 I have Nero 5.5 CD burning software, but not InCD. There is a check mark in the "Use SPTI". Do you mean I should clear that?

Your problem is probably due to ASPI burning drivers. I will wait for Nigel to comment on the log file.
By any chance do you have Nero InCD on your computer? If so remove it(especially if version 4 or 5) by the Add/remove program in Windows and try to redo the slideshow again in DVD PixPlay.
You can also try changing the drivers that DVD PixPlay is using, e.g. on Windows XP by going into View>Options>Other Options> Advanced Options >COMPATABILITY OPTIONS and changing the Use SPTI CHECK BOX.

That's a burn error. Have you tried burning at a slower speed? Does DVD PixPlay give you any error message?
Please also e-mail me the following file:

Posted - Jun 25 2009 : 21:51:13 Unfortunatly neither of my 2 drives can recognize the disk, so I am unable to read the contents with Windows Explorer - "Drive is not accessible"

If you look at the content of the burned disk using Windows Explorer, what files and folders does it contain? Also what size and file names are insde the folders?

Posted - Jun 25 2009 : 14:30:37 I do not fully understand the various formats, so the one I use is DVD format. There are no videos in the slide show, just 163 digital photos (800x600 jpegs) and 9 tracks of MP3 music. Total show time is indicated as 31:53. There are no error messages generated by PixPlay, but both DVD players state (after about a minute) that the disc is not playable. Hitachi DV-P315U and Electrohome 201E are the two machines I have tried these in, and I should point out that all my previous DVDs prepared by PixPlay still work in both machines. Also tried playing it back on the computer and it can't recognize the disc. I am using the same disc as in my previous successful burns - Maxell DVD+R I can see by looking at the recording surface that considerable data has been transferred to the disc. Would the PixPlayLog.txt file help in finding the problem? Hope this helps you help me! - Jim Archibald

You will need to give us more information inorder to help you. What format are you using-vcd,dvd+images etc? Are you addding videos or audio to the slideshow? What error messages do you get in DVD PixPlay and on DVD machines? What model DVD machines are you using? What version of DVD PixPlay are you using? How big is the slideshow? Unless the slideshow is large, 5 hours to burn is not reasonable.
The more information you give us the less guess work we have to do.
