After burning to Pixplay DVD format I found the disc would not play on all three DVD players and my new computer? DVD+image plays fine on all accept a Colby 7'DVD portable which I really wanted it to play on since the DVD format disc woulden't?

Hi Morry

DVD+Image format will play on a PC even if it does not have DVD playing software.

That Sony and the Coby should be fully compatible:

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDnameid=5260

Try going into View>Options, Advanced and changing the DVD MPEG Audio Setting.

Also you could try using the option in DVD PixPlay to output the slideshow files to your hard disk and then burn them with your own burning software (in case DVD PixPlay has an incompatibility with your burner).

Detailed instructions are available at:

Hi Nigel, yes I think it's all in there, well I certainly hope so. The AMD duel core PC has a ASUS DVD+/-R/RW,DL installed. I have played DVD discs on it before and as I said previously it plays DVD+IMAGE discs ok!
The Sony DVD player is a component part of a Mini System And lists the DVD video functions as DVD-Rs/DVD-RWs in video mode.It will only play Pixplay SVCDs
The Coby plays DVD (But not Pixplay DVD) and SVCD and is model TF-DVD 7100
I have had trouble right from the start with the burning of DVD format slideshows. My old PC would not let me use the Pixplay burner
and my new PC will not let me play them back on it!

Hi Morry

Does your computer have DVD playing software installed?

What are the models of the Sony and Colby?

Hi Nigel, I will correct my first message on this subject. The DVD format disc will play in one of three DVD players, a house brand DVD from retailer Dick Smith NZ ( the first time I loading it I diden't give it enought time as the player was very slow to read it!) But it will not play in my Sony DVD mini Hi Fi component system, the 7'Coby DVD portable player or the computer? The file is saved and is a 157 MB
audio TS and video TS. Another correction is the fact that the DVD+image project disc only played on the computer and the Dick Smith DVD player, not on the Sony or Coby?

Hi Morry

That's odd. If anything, the DVD+Image format slideshow should be somewhat less compatible than a straight DVD format. If you examine the DVD only disk with Windows Explorer does it contain any folders and files?
