I have a HP pavillion 742 that has two CD drives, both have now failed. Would it be possible to use a USB external CDROM? I replaced one of the internal drives, but it would not configure. Possible problem with motherboard, would this stop an external drive from performing?

As long as the burner has valid drivers it should work fine with DVD PixPlay.

I do not have an external CD drive as yet,I just want to know if it would work, since the 2 CD drives internal have failed.quote:
