WMA files can't be used directly, you need to convert them to MP3. There are many free programs for this such as at:

http://www.wma-mp3.org/

Music tracks on a normal CD are not actually files that Windows (or software such as Diji Album or DVD PixPlay) can use directly (e.g. move, copy, etc), though, of course, Windows can play the files.
In order to use them you need to use CD ripping software to convert the CD music into a file that is compatible with DVD PixPlay, MP3 being the recommended format, also WAV files may be used. There are many products that can do this, including free ones.

NOTE: Ensure the music tracks you are ripping are not copyright!

When you have converted the music to MP3 files you can add then add them to your slideshow using Edit>Edit Background Music.
