Program Tips
Dear Xequte Software
User,
Not much to report this month as we
are still HDAU with development of our new product. We are presently looking to release a
beta in May, which is later than we originally planned because we decided to
expand the features for the initial release. We are still looking for beta testers
(particularly amongst current MailList King users), so if you are interested
please visit:
We have recently added the following
to our DVD PixPlay Plug-In Page:
- 150 Clip Art Files
- Selection of Background Sound
files
Note: These are only available to
registered users. When installing you will need to supply the username (your
email address) and serial number you were supplied when purchasing (though
generally the installer will automatically detect them).
The Clip Art is selection of the
300,000 images offered by the Graphics
Factory, who are kindly offering a $10 discount to Xequte customers ($49.95
for a year's access):
DVD PixPlay allows you to create
slideshow discs from your digital photos and videos for playback on DVD players
and computers.V3.35 is a minor
update that fixes an issue with DVD PixPlay when communicating with DVD burners
under some installations of Windows 98 and ME (you will get an error that reads:
Initialization Error 37).
Windows 2000, XP and Vista users do not need to
update if they are already using v3.34.
Do you have a know-it-all in your
office?Then e-mail them our joke
IQ tester to bring them down to size.Don't worry, our sneaky tricks will ensure they never get more than one
answer correct!
As you will know clicking the "Add
Images" button in DVD PixPlay brings up a thumbnail browser so you can add
images and videos to your project.
On the bottom right of there are
three buttons you might not have noticed:
-Preview: Displays the current image
full size in a view window
-Sort: Allows you to choose the order
in which images are displayed.This
is important because it also controls the order in which the images you've
selected are added to your project. For instance you may prefer your images to be displayed in chronological
order (by photo taken date) rather than by filename
-File Display: Choose whether
thumbnails or small images are displayed, and also whether to show images,
videos or both
Also on the bottom left is a drop
down box that controls whether the images you've selected are added directly
after the currently selected thumbnail or at the very end of the
slideshow.
- MailList King: Double Opt-In and
Opt-Out Support
If you are having complaints from
recipients of your mailing list messages that they never signed up to your list,
then Double Opt-In is for you.Double Opt-In essentially means that subscription will be a two-step
process; when a subscribe message is received, a confirmation message is sent to
the subscriber who must reply to the message before they are added. You can enable this option under
View>Options, Double Opt-In.
- Smart Pix/MegaView: Displaying
files from multiple folders
If you want to display many folders
at once (great when you want to play music files that are into many folders) you
can right-click the folder and choose the "Show Sub-folders"
option.
- Diji Album: Replicating Objects
throughout your Album
You can quickly copy objects to
every page of your album without having to add them all manually. For example, let's say you want to add a
page number at the bottom of each page.Start by creating the object using Insert>Text and enter the text as
%PAGE_NUMBER% (you can select this by clicking 'Special...') so that the page
number is automatically displayed.Click OK.Your object will
be added to the page.
Now right-click the new object and
select the 'Add Object to All Pages...' option.
You can also choose a range of pages
that the object should be added to.
