File Import Settings
When importing entries which have multiple columns, MailList King will attempt to guess the layout of the import file and map the fields to its own. You will need to check the layout that is assigned and update it if necessary.
Does the file have column headings?
If your file
has a list of column headings, check the option, "File has header
row"
Mapping your Fields
Field mapping tells MailList King where each column of the import file should be imported to. For example, that data in the "Email" column should be inserted into MLK's Email field.
Three columns will be displayed:
Import Field Name: The name of each field in the import file (read from the import file header row)
Example: An example of this field in the import file
Destination Field: The field in the database where the data in this field should be inserted
To specify the destination for each field, click the Specify button in the far right box, or use the Up/Down buttons to reorder the fields. If you have a field in your import file that is not available in your database you can either choose the option to add it as a new Custom Field or to Ignore It.
Here is how a mapped file might look:
Import Field Name | Example | Destination Field |
|
john@someco.com | |
UserName | John Parker | Full Name |
Category | General_List | Group |
