Moving your Media Library Files in the Unregistered Version

By default Smart Pix stores its media library files in the folder "Smart Pix Manager\DB\" in your Documents and Settings folder.  If necessary you can change this folder.  Unfortunately doing this in the unregistered version is a little arduous.

The procedure is:

1.  Move the Media Library files

Close Smart Pix.  Move all of the following files to your new folder:

Spm_dfkw.dat

Spm_dfkw.idx

Spm_file.blb

Spm_file.dat

Spm_file.idx

Spm_info.dat

Spm_info.idx

Spm_keyw.dat

Spm_keyw.idx

Spm_kygp.dat

Spm_kygp.idx

Spm_link.dat

Spm_link.idx

Spm_path.dat

Spm_path.idx

Spm_cust.txt

2.  Run Smart Pix

When you run Smart Pix you will be advised that your media library cannot be located and asked to browse to the folder where you have moved it.  From now on Smart Pix will always look in this folder for your media library files.

If you encounter any problems, run the Registry Editor (if you don't know how to run the registry editor you are already out of your depth) and examine the key at the location,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Xequte\Smart Pix Manager\dbpath.  If all else fails delete this registry key and move your media library files back to the program folder.
