The main difference between QuickBooks online and QuickBooks for a desktop is accessibility. QuickBooks online is accessible anywhere you have access to the internet—whether you are in the office, at home, or traveling. QuickBooks (QB) software for a desktop on the other hand requires you to be at the computer it is installed on to use it.

With QuickBooks Online there is no need to update your application. This means you don’t have to deal with an interruption or the lack of customer service for an outdated version.

Traveling shouldn’t put a damper on your accounitng and payroll activities. With QuickBooks online, you can perform your accounting and payroll activities anywhere you have internet access. This is ideal for business owners who travel frequently.
