I am trying to find out if there is a way that we can have email addresses added to MLK automatically from a data base of ours by sending an email from our database list to a pop server for mlk to read.

The workflow would be as follows.

1.Email addresses are stored on our local database from various inputs for users.

2.Database would be set up to send an email to our pop server with information from users somewhere in the message....ie, email address, first name, last name, custom fields.

3. MLK would "read" the information from the email message on the pop server to add customer information to the MLK list

Can anyone tell me if something like this is possible? If not, is there another method that could be used to push user information to MLK on a daily or weekly basis?

Regards,
Sean

Hi Sean

Yes, basically you need to mimic a "web form" subscribe message.

http://www.xequte.com/help/mlking/index19.htm

See the "Web Form Processing" section under File > Options, Email Processing. There you need to specify the subject of your web form message, e.g. "Contact from Database" so that MLK can recognize and process it properly.

Use the web form schema button to specify the layout of the message. Basically the message will look something like:

Action: Subscribe
Email: nigel@test.com
First Name: Nigel
Last Name: Cross
Address: ...

Hi

Also, then you need to send it to one of the locations (pop server, Outlook folder, Inbox) specified under File > Options, Email Processing.

To understand it better, formulate a web form message yourself (in your email software) and send it to the pop account (that MLK checks).

You can also save it as a text file with the extension .WEBFORM and drop it onto the MLK window for processing.

Thank you. We'll be trying this out in the next few weeks.
