The mail program has been error-ing out with this message. It appears that the program can survive two of these but after the third it stops working completely until the errors are cleared by clicking "OK" on the message.
Please advise ASAP.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff
Please email me the log file for the sending task:
1. Run MLK and click Ctrl+Shift+I. 2. Check the box to display your "Sending Logs" folder and click "OK" 3. In that folder your log files are named "mail_sent_*.txt" with the date of the delivery included in the name. Find the files of the relevant date and send them to me

HELP - I thought I had activated the sending logs but apparently not. There are NO sending logs saved, only the Debug logs. How do I turn on the Sending logs?

Hi Jeff
Sending logs are controlled under File > Options, Database, Advanced Database Settings:
"Disable all logging..."
More likely you are not opening the correct folder. Did you try clicking Ctrl+Shift+I and selecting the logs folder:

Nope, I opened the correct folder, but the only log files were from June, when I first started testing the program.
I checked the extra advanced options and "Disable sending logs" is set to false. Is there anything else I need to do to turn on the sending log?
Thanks

Hi Jeff
That is odd. The default behaviour of MLK is to write logs, in fact, the real challenge is getting it to stop writing them.
Are you sure you have the same database open that you use for sending? If you have enabled the option that each database has different settings, then the logs would be stored in a different location.
At any rate, you can just enable debug logging. The debug log includes the full content of the sending log.

Hmmm - then I'm stumped.
There is only one database, and I have definitely opened the correct folder. I sent you a debug log for the last time the error occurred, but you said there was not reference in that log to the error I was reporting. That makes me suspect that I must have sent you the wrong log file. I suppose the only thing I can do is wait for the error to occur again and try sending the Debug logs for that day, the day before and the day after.
Thanks for getting back to me - I'll keep you posted.

Hi Jeff
Yes, please delete your existing debug logs, then run MLK and try to reproduce the problem. When it occurs, close MLK and send me the log.
If it takes a while to recur,, you should delete the debug logs every day or so to prevent them getting too large.

Thanks Nigel.
MLK is set to pull email from the inbox in Outlook and send out through Outlook. The whole process is automated and runs 24x7. That being the case I'm afraid I can't tell you what the program is doing when the error occurs, although I would assume that it is processing emails for sending.
We do not regularly monitor the computer running MLK, so our first indication of a problem is when one of the list members emails me directly (remember, the error crashes MLK so they can't reach me that way) and says "I haven't gotten anything in a few days".
I will try rebuilding the database as you suggested in your email.
Thanks again.

Hi Jeff
So this is not on a local system, then? I actually have a similar report from last year of this issue occuring when remotely connecting to MLK. Do you remotely connect to that server to access MLK (e.g. using VNC)?

The list server is in our server room and pretty much all work on it is done remotely. We are primarily using LogMeIn for remote access. Please note that the errors have always occurred when no one is connected remotely.

Hi Nigel - Just got a slightly different error -
"Access Violation at address 00473F43 in module ‘MLKing.exe.’ Read of address 00000004"
I sent the debug logs direct to your email account.
Thanks again.

Sorry Nigel. Just got similar error - "Access violation at address 00473F43 in module 'MLKing.exe'. Read of address 00000004.
There appeared to be 4 (four) instances of the error.
I will send you the error/debug logs directly.
Thanks.
Jeff
