I have a member sending question, not sure which option to use. I'd like any member who is a member of list to be able to send to the list without having to change the sending option for each member.
Before you answer let me give you a couple of more details. I run MLK as a server. I allow new members to subscribe by sending a message to MLK using the subscribe command. Once they join I'd like them to be able to send emails to the members.
Can you clarify whcih setting I should select?
Thanks Doug

Hi Doug
You need to set the following two options so that anyone in the list can send, and their sending rights are enabled automatically once they join.

Duhhh – How embarrassing, this is too obvious. This is a case of not seeing the forest while looking at the trees.
Wait a minute, I see what I was doing wrong. By default "Who Can Send" is Anyone which prevents on from checking "Don't allow members to send...." |

Nigel the "Help" screen doesn't match the text of the program. This is why I was confused.
The help file states "The sender must exist in your mailing list, belong to the group they are sending to and have their sending rights enabled to send to your list"
The last part, ".... and have their sending rights enabled to send to your list." I take that to mean I have to check the allow sending box for each member which is not what I'm after.
I'd like people to join the list and then be able to send messages to the mailing list with no internetion on my part.
How do they get sending rights?
MailList King offers four options for limiting access to your mailing list:
Anyone can send to your mailing list There is no checking the validity of anyone sending to your lists. All messages are accepted
Anyone with sending rights in the database can send to your mailing list The sender must exist in your mailing list and have their sending rights enabled to send to your list. They do not need to belong to the group they are sending to
Anyone with sending rights in the group being posted to can send to your mailing list The sender must exist in your mailing list, belong to the group they are sending to and have their sending rights enabled to send to your list
Only senders with a specific address or domain can send to your mailing list Generally used when only you or your company are allowed to send to the list. You will need to specify either an e-mail address (e.g. john@mycompany.com), multiple addresses separated by a comma (e.g. john@mycompany.com,jane@mycompany.com) or a domain (e.g. mycompany.com)
Do not allow members to send to the list until accepted
Specify the default Sending Rights option for new mailing list members. When checked members cannot send until you permit them, otherwise by default members can send to your mailing list.

The option "Don't allow members to send to list until accepted" controls the users' "Sending Rights".
If the box is cleared (not checked) then the user will automatically have sending rights when they are added to your list, and thus can send immediately without any action on your part.
