We have a database of 1.4million 2.2ghz dual core processor with 2gigs of ram.

Does the new version of MLK use multiple processors, many tasks on 6 take up one whole processor 100%. We are looking to upgrade the hardware 2 a quad core if mlk will use it.

Groups take forever to load Like an hour, I think something is messed up in our index file. I have defragged the drive. I've tried to export but it is like one or two emails a second, then wanted to rebuild the database from scratch but this would take days.

If a smaller database would be faster then we can split it into two groups. Will version 9 be faster?

Looking at possibly a solid state disk for our database seems mlk/cpu is limiting here but hard to tell.

Current hardware limits us to a 3ghz dual core would have to upgrade mb and cpu, but if mlk is not multithreaded just a faster processor and/or oc'd some could get us 30-40 more speed. The computer is offsite so overclocking is scary without a substantial burn in period.

Thanks for any insites

Hi Jim

A 1.4 million member database is large but should still provide acceptable performance in MLK on a reasonably spec'ed machine. We regularly test a database of over 1 million members.

Of course you need to ensure that under View > Options, Other, Advanced, you have set the option to limit loading of records to around 500 members.

V9 has a number of performance enhancements vs v6, but this is mainly tuning and optimization so you are unlikely to see significant changes.

You can get significant performance improvements by splitting large databases.

Now down to specifics, there does seem to be something wrong with your implementation. First check that you have set the record loading option above.

Next, you might try repairing the database:

And finally, if you can export your database then you should create a new database and import your records into it.

Hi

It does not have specific multi-processor support.

Thanks looking at new version, is there some specific documentation on database validation, mostly interested in how it processes errors from other mail servers, like will it ignore too many threads from our server error, is it single threaded. I have the demo and was looking at it, domain validation would help, but user does not exist would also be helpful, whats unreliable about the email validation. If this is single threaded we should not get to many threads error. Wish we could specify our own errors. Or at least have a large list of errors to choose from. Maybe that's possible, let me know thanks

Nevermind I see some of those options are available in undeliverable section. Is there a way to reset the undeliverable counters.

Hi

Reset them for each user?

1. Select "Other Filters" in the main window
2. Choose the "Frequently Undeliverable" options and Select "1" bounce
3. Select all using Ctrl+A
4. Right click the selection and choose "Reset Undeliverable Count"
