As mentioned in an earlier message, I am creating a slide show with still (mpeg) and video segments using the Multiple Slideshow Disk feature that Nigel suggested. I alternate Projects with stills with Projects with videos. This has created an integrated show, but the sound and picture in the videos are not in synch. This is particularly disturbing when the great vibraharpist John Cocuzzi raises his mallet and then you hear the note, or the Australian "Cello Diva" Sally Maer stops bowing her cello but the music continues for nearly a second.

What's going on, and, more importantly, how can I get the sound and picture in synch?

Hi

This can occur with certain video formats due to the drivers on some systems. Try converting the video to MPEG before adding it to your project.

You can convert your files online (for free) at:

http://www.zamzar.com/ (100MB Limit)
http://media-convert.com/ (50MB Limit)

Or you can download Prism:

Nigel, Thanks for your suggestions. I've been using Any Video Converter, a free and very competent program, to go from QuickTime (.mov) to MPEG-1. I've tested the individual video clips and they all work faultlessly.

I have discovered a (maybe the) cause of the problem. If I place a single video in a Project between 2 sets of JPG stills, sound and video are in synch. However, if the Project has 2 or more MPEGs, the second and later ones have sound and picture out of synch. Apparently, something happens in the Project handling when it puts 2 MPEGs together. My slide show has 11 videos grouped into 5 different Projects. I really hate to think of all the extra work and complexity involved in having 11 separate projects for the videos, plus the 7 still picture projects.

I hope you can come up with some alternative fix.

Thanks.

Hi

It sounds like next weeks fix will resolve this issue. Please let me know if it does not.
