Even I have checked a mender with "member can send" mailking return a prompt telling me that member are "without sending rights".

I use windows server 2003, mlk 8.62 with outlook 2007.
My options are:
- Allow member to send to mailing list.
- Messages with the text [group name] in subject.
- Who can send? anyone
- (unchecked) don`t allow members to send until accept
- group determined by the subject [group name]
- moderation: confirm sending by new members (if I choose no moderation, the MLK don`t ask anything and nothing happens with the messages, as the member hasn`t sending rights)

Resuming: the mlk it`s not considering the check "member can send" in the member profile.

tks in advance for any help.

What options are you using?
My options are:
- Allow member to send to mailing list.
- Messages with the text [group name] in subject.
- Who can send? anyone in destination group with sending rights
- (unchecked) don`t allow members to send until accept
- group determined by the subject [group name]
- moderation: confirm sending by new members (if I choose no moderation, the MLK don`t ask anything and nothing happens with the messages, as the member hasn`t sending rights)

OK, I have it figured out. If the option to allow duplicate email addresses is checked AND the member's name does not match what is on file, the message "member does not have sending rights" is generated. I understand the need to determine WHICH member is sending and to what group, but this imposed check is awkward at best. I have un-checked the duplicate address option and MLK is back to doing it's normal great job.

Comments please!

Hi

I'll need to investigate that.

If duplicate addresses are enabled and you have specified a "Requires Sending Rights" option for "Who can send" then MLK will check the member by searching their name and address. If that is not found it should just search the address.

Thanks Nigel!

I have options as suggested plus "use the group(s) that the sender belongs to" to determine the destination group.

In v9.03 we will allow a member to be located by email address even if name is different
