I have a group of 700+ memebers. I want to create a new group with a certain characteristic from within that group. Other than going into each member's 'card' and adding them to the new group, how can I do this? Is there a way of selecting all the people I want from the list in the old group, and automatically adding them to the new group?
Please reply to: richard@LPAgroup.biz
Many thanks, Richard |

Hi Richard
Sure. You don't mention the characteristics, but lets take the example of splitting your group up by language:
1. Select the Search tab of the main window 2. Check the box for French 3. Click Search 4. Select all with Ctrl+A 5. Select Edit>Group Membership 6. Click "New Group" 7. Type "French Users" and click OK 8. Check the "French Users" group box 9. Click OK

Hi Nigel,
Thanks, that's not what I meant but I figured it out by myself. If I have a list, and I want a new group of only those from the old group who's name is John. First, I make the new group called John. Then, I scroll through the group, and everyone I see with JOHN I hold the ctrl and click. I gather up a group this way and right-click, and then click on Group Membership. Then just click on the new group JOHN, which adds all these people to that group.
Rgds

Yes, though it would be quicker just to search for the name "John" and then select all.
