| I have version 4 of DVD Pixplay and have a problem with flickering in certain portions of photos in slideshows. I have tried the highest quality encoder but flickering still occurred. I even tried the gaussian blur of 5 and 6 pixels in my photo editor but flickering occurred. Text that I add in title frames in DVD Pixplay also flickers. Is there any antiflicker options in DVD Pixplay? I read the other posts in this forum and I don't see any solutions. |

Is this when you preview your slideshow, play your disk on your DVD player or both?

| The flickering only occurs when I play the slideshow in the DVD player on my TV. I don't see the flickering in the preview or when I view the DVD slideshow on my computer. |

If your DVD player is progressive scan capable, always use that option when connected to a progressive scan capable television.
So check the option settings on the DVD player and TV to be sure they are set correctly.
In progressive scan, the image lines (or pixel rows) are scanned in numerical order (1,2,3) down the screen from top to bottom, instead of in an alternate order (lines or rows 1,3,5, etc... followed by lines or rows 2,4,6). By progressively scanning the image onto a screen every 60th of a second rather than "interlacing" alternate lines every 30th of a second, a smoother, more detailed, image can be produced on the screen that is perfectly suited for viewing fine details, such as text, and is also less susceptible to interlace flicker.

Hi
Have you tried specifying the highest quality encoding option (using the Alternate encoder) on Step 3 of the "Burn Disk" wizard?
Also, try going into View>Options, Advanced and changing the DVD MPEG Audio Setting as that can affect playback on some players.

Since the DVD plays ok on the computer than there is nothing wrong with DVD PIXPLAY or the burning process.
Try using the DVD-R 4X and burn at 2x or 4x. In general, the slower the burn speed the less errors in burning. If you are using a higher DVD such as an 8 or 16X the increased compression not only affects the video quality,it can also affect playback on some DVD players. With increased compression, the disc is harder to read and may cause skips or freezes on some DVD players.
I would recommend you use a CD|DVD cleaning repair kit on the disc and the DVD player. Any dust or dirt embedded on the lens or DVD could cause flicker.
Also,check that the video and audio cables are properly connected to the player and the TV.

Have you tried playing it on a different DVD PLAYER? A DIFFERENT TV? OR USING A DIFFERENT DICS TYPE OR MANUFACTURER? DOES II ALWAYS FLICKER IN THE SAME SPOT IN THE SLIDE SHOW etc?
There are hundred of questions that would need answers inorder to solve this problem. Since it plays correctly on the computer that appears to be the only solution at the present time.

Hi
Try researching the player at:
http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers
To see if it is a known issue with that player, and if there are any recommendations.
Otherwise:
Try different disk types; use name brands and swap types, e.g. DVD-R instead of DVD+R.
Also try removing or changing the background audio (affects video playback on some players).
Finally try disabling transition and/or motion effects and longer display times.

| Thanks for the advice. I changed the transition to cross fade and it works perfectly now on a couple of DVD players that were previously not playing it properly. Something to note if others are having issues. |
