I'm sure this is my error. Is there a way to hand select addresses to send to using (shift-click) or CTRL-click)?
I have a list of 200. I want to select 5 people at random to send a test message. I've tried CTRL clck. I can select them, but can't send to them. Tried the To: no lick there either.

Easy. Just highlight the names in the list, then click on the 'send email' icon. MLK will automatically insert just the names you selected into the outgoing email.

Just to clarify, Shift or Ctrl click the selection, then right-click and choose "Send to Selected Members"
Another way is to display the checkbox column. You can then check members to send to (even doing multiple searches to do so) and then in the Custom Filter mode choose the option to show all checked members (just remember to clear the check selection before your start).

Ian,
"Just highlight the names in the list, then click on the 'send email' icon. MLK will automatically insert just the names you selected into the outgoing email."
That is what I was trying, didn't work. Messages were sent to entire list. I can't figure out on the send line how to select anything other than the value presented on the send line.
I finally found the right clicked a highlated name and selected send and that worked.
Nigel,
I remember that is one of the not shown colums. That's a perfect solution too.
What do you mean by... "just remember to clear the check selection before your start"? Douggg And

Hi
Checkbox selection is useful when you need to add to and hold the selection of recipients, e.g. search for a city, add a few recipients, search for another city, add a few recipients, etc.
Also, the check selection is held even if you restart MLK.
So, naturally before you start you need to clear your checked selection:
1. Click the "Other Filters" mode in the main window 2. Choose the "Selection: Checked" filter 3. Click the "Uncheck all" filter

I'm finding if I select 2 people on the list, it uses MLK to send. If I select only one, it tries to use Outlook. Is that a bug?
I'm not following you on check. Is it a column? Do I add it with column selector? - Ok found this one. It's the first one in the column selector (the one without a description).
Is there a way to clear all the check marks in the Check column? How about in the New Member or some other colmun? |

Hi
I find it easier to display using View>Columns>Check Box
Clearing all check marks is explained earlier in this discussion. You can do the same thing for new members using the "Have never been emailed" custom filter.
