I have a similar problem with using DVD PixPlay in the synchronisation of the video image and sound, which seems to get ahead of the video image. I produced a 54 minute VCD Format video in 544 MB of 137 individual video clips, which I put on a 700 MB write-only CD.
The burn was successful and the VCD started playing well on the DVD player, but after 30 minutes the sound started moving ahead of the moving image until after 45 minutes it was completely out of synchronisation. At about 46 minutes the sound cut out completely and moving image was silent.
The video clips came from an Olympus 740 digital camera, which makes MOV movies. These are QuickTime movie formats which are not compatible with DVD PixPlay. After some experimentation of converting the MOV files into MPEG files using Digital Media Converter, I found that DVD PixPlay accepted MPEG1 VCD (PAL) format. So I tried about a dozen of these clip conversions to produce a VCD video. The resulting VCD was ok. Synchronisation of sound and video ok.
So I decided to go for the 54 minute VCD, with the above results.
Just in passing, Nigel Powell recommended DVD PixPlay in his "Don't Panic" column, page 11 of the "In Gear" section of 22nd June 2008 Sunday Times. This is why I decided to try it and buy it.
Hopefully there may be a patch to cure this synchronisation problem.
