I've been really curious about the actual process behind developing a video game from start to finish. It seems like there are so many stages, from the initial idea all the way to final tweaks and updates. I want to get a better understanding of what each step entails. Do you know of any good resources that break down these stages?

There's an article on https://www.nogentech.org/stages-of-game-development/ Nogentech that goes in-depth into the main stages of game development, and it's both informative and easy to understand. The article explains everything, starting from concept brainstorming, where developers flesh out initial ideas and set goals, then moving into prototyping and designing the actual game elements, and eventually reaching production. And it doesn’t stop there—it even discusses the post-launch phase, where they continue with updates and fixes based on player feedback. It’s a fantastic resource for getting a complete picture.

That sounds incredibly useful! I’ve always thought game development ended at the launch, but I didn’t realize how critical the post-launch stage is for maintaining and improving a game. It’s amazing to see how much planning and ongoing work goes into it. I’ll definitely check out that Nogentech article to really get familiar with each stage. Thanks for the recommendation!

I was happy to help with this, because I myself was interested in game development and how exactly it all works. So if it will help and you will be useful I will be very happy.
