Liposomes are a type of nano-sized phospholipid bubbles being used to deliver a number of different active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Liposomes provide various advantages such as being highly biocompatible, easy to control in vivo, and capable of delivering a broad variety of APIs as potential drug carriers. Currently, a large number of liposomal drugs are under development and some of them are already approved for clinical use.
