I’ve heard a lot about hand-raised parrots being more social and easier to train. I’ve never had a parrot before, but I’m considering getting one for my family. I’d definitely want a bird that’s friendly and enjoys being around people. Is hand-raising really that important for this? How much difference does it make compared to parrots raised in aviaries?

Yeah, hand-raised parrots are usually way more comfortable with people. They’re handled from a young age, so they grow up being familiar with humans. When I got my macaw, I got a hand-raised one, which really helped with bonding. Suppose you’re looking for a social bird. You can find more info on this, especially for macaws, here: hyacinth macaw for sale. It’s got some good tips on why hand-raised birds are so great for families.

I’ve always found parrots interesting, especially when they’re super social. From what I’ve seen, the earlier they’re around humans, the more comfortable they are in a home setting. A friend of mine has a hand-raised cockatiel, and it’s the friendliest bird I’ve ever seen. Seems like it makes a big difference for those who want a pet that interacts a lot.
