On January 26, 2020, basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna were tragically killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. Along with Kobe and Gianna, six other people aboard the private helicopter also died in the devastating accident.
The helicopter crashed around 10:00 a.m. local time, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office later confirmed a total of 9 fatalities. A budding basketball star herself, Gianna traveled with Kobe to a youth basketball game they were both scheduled to attend. Gianna's teammate and his parents were also on board the ill-fated flight.
