Victory in the Champions League (2007-2008)

On 19 September 2007, Ronaldo faced his former team Sporting in the Champions League, scoring a goal which he did not celebrate. His first hat-trick for Manchester United came on 12 January 2008 in a 6-0 win over Newcastle United. In a game against Reading on 19 January, he scored more than the previous season, scoring 23 league goals.

In the Champions League, Ronaldo's key goal against Lyon ensured United qualified for the knockout stages. He made history on 19 March 2008 when he captained United for the first time, scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Bolton, breaking George Best's record of six goals scored by a midfielder in a season.

More achievements followed, including decisive goals against Roma and Barcelona in the knockout stages of the Champions League. In the 2007–08 season final against Chelsea, Ronaldo opened the scoring, although his penalty attempt was saved in the penalty shoot-out. However, United prevailed and Ronaldo was named man of the match by UEFA.

Throughout the season, Ronaldo not only demonstrated his goal-scoring prowess, but also expanded his skill set, becoming the Premier League's top scorer with 31 goals and the first winger to win the Golden Boot. He was also voted England's best player for the second year in a row by both journalists and the players themselves. https://cristiano-ronaldo.ae/
