Posted - Jul 12 2023 : 05:47:23 If you can't access your Gmail account, either because you forgot your password or because of a possible breach, you'll need to go to the Google account recovery page. This is the official process that Google has outlined for you. You will need to answer some questions with personal information so that Google can verify your identity. If successful, Google should allow you to log back into your account once the verification process is complete. • First, gather all the pertinent information you have about the account you want to recover (email address, account name, passwords you used) and go to the Google account recovery page. • It will be useful to have on hand later. • Type your email address or the phone number associated with the email address you want to recover. This should match the number you used when you first set up your account. • Click Next. • If you entered an email address, enter the last password you remember. Alternatively, skip to step #7. • Click Next after typing the last password you remember. • If you did not enter a password and want to test your phone number now, click Try another way. • If you got here from step #4 or chose to Try another way, Google will send a verification code to your phone number. Enter your verification code. • Click Next. • If you entered your email before, Google will ask you to enter the recovery email address you added to your account. Once you have done this, you will receive a verification code there to continue the process. • Enter your verification code and click Next.
Whether you used an email address or phone number to receive a confirmation code, the next step is the same. You will be able to login after a quick password change. Here's a refresher on how to change your Google account password.
