Hi Nigel

I have latest 10. 52 Personal edition (updated today). How to I change the default HTML or LETTER editors within MLK ?

Whenever I choose "Edit in HTML Editor" MLK opens the file in MS Word 2007. I want to open it in Kompozer

When I choose "Print Letters" from the list menu, MLK opens its own Editor but I would prefer it if Word 2007 did open in this instance!

Thanks

Andrew

And to help other users configure IE for non Microsoft HTML Edtors, here is the procedure:

ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR REGSTRY B4 MAKING CHANGES!

Adding HTML Editors
The steps for adding HTML editors to the drop-down list on the Programs tab of the Internet Options dialog box in Internet Explorer 5 and later are slightly different than the steps for adding client applications like mail and news.

Register the friendly name of the HTML editor by adding a new key to HKEY_CLASSSES_ROOT\.htm\OpenWithList.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm\OpenWithList\friendly name
Where "friendly name" is your Editor

Then Add shell, edit, and command keys to the editor's registry entry.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm\OpenWithList\friendly name\shell\edit\command

Enter the fully formed path of the .exe file that launches the editor in the command key's "Value data" field. Enclose the path in quotes if it contains spaces.

The following example shows the Value data entry for a typical installation of free Kompozer (I use)

"C:\Program Files\KompoZer\kompozer.exe"

Attached is a screenshot of how it shold look

Hopes this helps someone else.

Hi

It uses the default HTML editor for the system.

You can change this in your Control Panel, Internet Options dialog. Choose the programs tab and specify your preferred HTML editor.
