MailList King Personal Edition v10.21r, WXP/SP3

Situation: I want to personalize an invitation and use the person's first name throughout. What I want is:

"Jim, I would like to extend an invitation...yada, yada, yada...Thank you Jim."

otherwise

"I would like to extend an invitation...yada, yada, yada...Thank you."

Problem: Some records do not have a name (name fields are empty) and some records only have an initial for the first name (J.). I want the alternate text in either of these cases.

I'm able to personalize either condition based on the 'Insert Conditional Text...' feature but can't figure out if there's a way to test both condtions.

Jim

MLK automatically handles the situation where a field value is blank and needs a default value.

Use the following setting:

Hi Jim

Unfortunately there is not a condition at present that allows you to check the length of the field so you can't check for short fields (though it is a good idea for a coming update).
