I have a couple of User Fields in Outlook that MLK does not sync with and I need this data to personalise emails.

How do map the fields doing the manual synchronisation?

I notice from the manual one can map fields from a csv file.

So i tried this with a small list but it placed the data in the wrong fields a few times.
I dont want to do this for my whole database only to find that my emails are getting the wrong data from the database.

Also not too keen on having to dump to a CSV file and reload data everytime I want to update the MLK database.

Any suggestions?

Peter

Hi Peter

It is OK to add data to custom fields. They won't be affected by your later synchronizations with Outlook.

CodeTwo Outlook software as above gets my vote - easy, fast and free - just how I like 'em.

Thanks for the replies.

Until the MLK upgrade - I'll try the Code Two software and if it's too clumsy it might be easier to make MLK my main database and just sync back to Outlook instead from Outlook.

The User Field will only be required in MLK once its set up and running correctly and I can put the info directly into MLK for personalisation of emails.

Can you see any probs here Nigel? The User Field can't sync back to Outlook can it?

At least some help: a freeware one-click-export:
code two outlook export
http://www.codetwo.com/downloads/freeware/
in use since 4 months: excellent.
Nevertheless: direct outlook-MLK would be much better. I support that request.

Hi Peter

Mapping of other Outlook fields was on our original Synchronization spec, but was dropped due to time constraints. Since then you are the first to ask about it.

We do plan to support them in a later release, but in the meantime you need to export to a CSV file and then import them into MLK (mapping them to a custom field).
