Hi
Thank you to everyone who participated in the MLK Survey 2009 to help us decide on what features to add to coming releases.
However many of the custom requests that were made are already possible. I have provided details on these below:
> a facility to enter more data per every email recipient eg cell number , phone number , description
Already possible in the Edit member dialog
> A find and replace function
There is already a function to automatically update all domains. In what other situation would details of multiple recipients be updated en masse?
> Ability to process inbound emails without going through outlook and leaving all those that need manual reading in outlook
Should already do that. Please let me know more detail.
> ability to put mapping on image for links
Not recommended as many email programs do not support it.
> Ability to search view and edit list of unsubscribed users
View > History, Removed
> add to group based on subject title eg title 1 subscribe to newsletter; title 2 join webinar etc with unique confirmation messages
You can do this using "Folder Processing Tasks"
> Allow undeliverable addresses to be set back to 0 failures after they succeed once.
For performance reasons this is handled by resetting the bounce count if it is the first bounce in x months
> API to access database
An ODBC driver is available. If you need other programmatic access email us with details.
> Auto append text to subject according to send group
You can do this with conditional text
> Automate sending newsletter - from 1 to 10 every n-days
Already possible using delayed welcome messages
> Being able to add to more than one group at a time
Sure, just comma separate the groups to add someone to, e.g. Group1,Group2
> better reporting of failed, bounced and unsubscribe stats per send
Much improved in recent versions
> for "one way lists" wish MEMBER CAN SEND were turned off by default
You can change the default setting under View > Options, Member Sending
> For double opt-in Subscribe Confirmation Message, I need to be able to send a different message for each group
Can you use Welcome messages instead?
> I am not an IT guy so I always worry the smtp server you supply can be interferred with by virus or hackers causing me problems by sending out harmful mass mailing
That is not really possible.

Already supported and much improved in v8.60

Select List > Send Email to File...

You should be able to download dictionaries for all languages

You can use a custom field for this

Already supported using the "Delayed Message" functionality
> Should work better with software other than Outlook
We would love to have better integration with Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc, but the problem is that these programs only support "Simple MAPI", which means that third party programs can only access very limited functionality of these programs.

You can do this by inserting "Personalization fields"
On the to-do list:
> A confirmation alert when and email is opened by a recipient.
