I would like to have multiples names with the same email adress in different groups...

Is this possible ?

If yes, is it also possible not to see that an email adress is located in many groups if the name is different ???

Reason ?

I have a large group of kids in a sport association separated in 7-8 groups...

The email adress is very often the parent's email...

They all belong to only 1 group but often have a brother or sister in another group...with the same parent's email...

I often need to send separate emails for each group and I would like to add the name of the kid automatically in the email so the parents know for what kid or group the email is for..

Thanks !

Nigel, confronted with the same issue as above i got myself into a little mess

Our sportclub has 15 sports, each with its own group.
I have a majority members subscribe to multiple groups. Ig member can belong to multiple groups : yes
To support more kids in one family i selected "allow duplicate email adresses: yes"

Then i exported the database for updating some fields in excel and imported the excel back resulting in the following issues

1. Every email adres got a new database entry for each group. No multiple groups anymore.
2. Every member gets for every group he has subscribed a happy birthday mail ( sometimes 9 times, which is to much)
3. When requesting "subscriberinfo" the member gets only one subscription in his answer to this .
4. I have to autorise every instance for every group to allow a member " sending rigths" . If only one entry has no sending rigths mlk blocks all member sending by this member.

I know how to come back to single email adresses with multiple groups, but then i loose the different kids in the database. Therefore i really like to use the duplicate email adres feature, but have to find a solution for the many happy birthday messages and the subscribeinfo feature. Do you have a smart solution for this?

Hi

Yes, you can allow duplicate addresses by enabling the relevant setting under View > Options, Other, Advanced, "Advanced" tab.

Each member with a duplicate email address will need to have a different name.
