Posted - Oct 01 2008 : 06:47:52 Nigel, when leaving mail list king running I get the message below. This only happens in the evening after I leave the office. I can have multiple computers running the program during the day and this never happens. It seems to only happen in the evening. The computers and server they use are all on UPS. Any suggestions ?
error message received: Sending Error Encountered! Sending of Message with SMTP failed with error: Error connecting to the Internet (or server)

Posted - Oct 03 2008 : 06:40:37 Nigel, after following your recommendations for turning off the sending error message function, we determined that the sending errors are happening at 3AM. The mail server shows the email being sent to it stopped, but there is a trickle of email being sent out from the server. Our next step was to turn off the windows auto-update feature on one of the computers to see if this was the problem. The computer we tried this on stopped sending but displayed a different error message.
"sending of with SMTP failed with error: 5.5.2 <DHHWD7G1> Helo command rejected: need fully qualified host name"
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated

Yes, disable "Always show errors encountered when sending".
If it is set to retry it will then try again after several minutes to see if there is an active connection.

It could just be a transitory disconnect from your ISP, possibly due to a backup procedure or sending too many messages?
You might try disabling the message View > Options, Sending, Other Sending Settings, and see if it continues to send normally a bit later.
