Posted - Aug 28 2008 : 09:21:41 Hello,
I am trying the demo of MailKing and have a question about how to setup a mail group. My boss has a list of about 1000 addresses. Some show up as the address bobh@dowechetumandhowe.com others show up as Bob Heart <bobh@dowecheatumandhoew> Here is where it gets wierd...
He copies this list out of previously sent emails and pastes it into the Bcc to send it out each time. It shows up fine when you do this. When you paste it into the body of an email say to edit or do something else with. The ones with Bob Heart <bobh@dowecheatumandhoew> show up only as Bob Heart with no address after???????
Will mailking take the name out of the body of coppy or will it recognize the address as well? How do I make this into a group. He's been doing it the wrong way for 5 years and now we need to get this MailKing system up and running properly. I'm new to the whole mail database-ing thing. Thank you for any help

To confirm, you copy an address such as "Bob Heart <bobh@dowecheatumandhoew>" and paste it into the message editor part of MLK (List > Send Email) and only the "Bob Heart" part shows?
Does this happen every time you paste addresses formatted like that (e.g. type one in Notepad and paste that into MLK). What version of Windows and Internet Explorer do you have?
You should add your recipients to a group as follows:
1. In the main window select List > Add Addresses 2. Paste your address list 3. Specify the group to add to 4. Click OK
Or if your addresses are in a CSV or Excel spreadsheet you can import them (with names and other address details) using File > Import from File
