Posted - Jun 11 2008 : 02:45:00 I have a strange situation. Using SMTP (via your ISP's mail server) and with authentication on and correctly set, during a send of 237 mails I get this message every 6 emails:
SEND FAILURE: Please turn authentication on FAILURE (Please turn authentication on) Disconnecting from SMTP Server
Authentication is on and is set properly.
If I abort the send and then go back to restart the send after 6 emails the message pops up again.
I then set the mail to be sent using MLK's Internal SMTP Server (direct sending) leaving default DNS server in settings. And....I get the same message pop-up after 6 emails:
SEND FAILURE: Please turn authentication on FAILURE (Please turn authentication on) Disconnecting from SMTP Server
Any suggestions? I'm at a loss. I tried limiting the send to every 10 seconds, but after 6 emails I get the message again!

Firstly check with your ISP whether they are doing any funky spam prevention to prevent too many messages being sent. You might want to try using MLK's option to send via Outlook (or create a lot of messages in Outlook) and see if you get the same result.
Also, go into View>Options, Sending, Settings and if multiple connections is enabled, try disabling it.
If that fails to resolve it please email me the log file for the sending task:
1. Run MLK and click Ctrl+Shift+I. 2. Check the box to display your database folder and click "OK" 3. Browse to the subfolder named "SendLogs" 4. In that folder your log files are named "mail_sent_*.txt" with the date of the delivery included in the name. Find the files of the relevant date and send them to me
