Posted - Oct 22 2007 : 19:32:37 I have a relatively small mailing list (about 1,500). About 30% of the list goes to addresses at @sympatico.ca I use an authenticated SMTP server. All of the other addresses go without problem, but sympatico gives me nothing but headaches. It invariably times out (120 seconds) and must be rerun several times - and even then only a marginal increase in the number of successful sends. None of the messages are bouncing back.
A number of months ago I wrote to their postmaster. They responded that they were not blocking my sending domain and that they were unaware of any reason for the problem.
1. Does anybody have experience with sympatico? 2. Any suggestions for problem services like sympatico? 3. Is there an easy way to seperate the list so that you can send part of it using one method (SMTP) while another part perhaps using OLE? Just a thought...

Can you be more specific about your sending method. Is this an SMTP server of your ISP or a local one (i.e. one on your computer)?
You can separate out your list by domain as follows: 1. Choose the Filter tab of the main window 2. Choose the Email field and specify @sympatico.ca as your search text 3. Click Search 4. Send your message
5. Repeat the process but this time do an "Inverted" search.
