Posted - Oct 15 2007 : 12:10:32 Hi, I have had success in sending many batches of HTML emails via Outlook in the past two months. So I was surprised by an error message that popped up this morning - it reads:
"Error encountered sending via Outlook. Class not registered. ProgID: "MLKing.SafeMailItem". You can change your sending method under VIEW>OPTIONS, SENDING."
I tried changing the sending method from Outlook to SMTP by entering the required info (SMTP host name; checked off THIS SMTP SERVER REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION and provided my username and p/word; checked off THIS SERVER REQUIRES ENCRYPTED CONNECTION and specified the SSL #). Then a new error came: "SOCKET ERROR #11004".
Your earliest reply is appreciated - need to send this mailer out ASAP! Thank you. |

Can you post more detail for other users who may encounter the same issue?

I'm not sure why the class became unregistered if you did not reinstall Windows or MLK. Generally an Outlook install should not cause such an issue.

Posted - Oct 16 2007 : 12:26:13 Thank you Nigel! My mailer is being sent to hundreds of addresses as I type this. Remarkable that you almost always have a solution! By the way, I recently upgraded to Office 2007. Not sure if that was a (delayed) problem since the trouble didn't surface immediately thereafter.

Posted - Oct 16 2007 : 01:37:12 Hi
It appears that MLK's DLL's are not registered correctly with Windows. Perhaps you have reinstalled Windows, have just copied your MLK installation from another computer or you installed MLK under a different user account.
Run MLK and then click Ctrl+Shift+R and click Yes when it prompts you.
