Regarding the following:
> Another variation I can see using myself is in my line of work where we have large > numbers of staff on the mailing lists who migrate around the company. If we forced > them to opt-in every 180 days so that their profile was up-to-date...
This should also be handled using delayed messages (assigned automatically when the member joins the list).
However we would also like to extend the existing batch scheduled/sending functionality to include an option that the sending task should automatically recur (e.g. every 180 days).

Please refer to the prior thread on this topic:

This is something that could really be used.

Our intention was simply to have a birthday function where a custom email would be delivered on the birth date specified for each user, because that is the only request we have on file for such a feature.
Couldn't account renewel delivery messages be handled using the existing delayed message feature?

I realize you probably don't want to let too much out-of-the-bag prior to release of the new version - but can you elaborate on the 'birthdate' feature. Will it be generic enough to be used as a general reminder feature, such as for account renewals, etc.? Will it automatically remove members from subscription lists pending action? Thanks.

It is slated for inclusion in the next release, but that is unlikely to be released until October or so.
It will be a free upgrade to all purchasers in the previous six months.
