I'm looking for a mailing list programme that can do the following:

1. Have separate mailing lists, and groups within those lists
2. Send to an external smtp server per mailing list (each list can have it's own smtp settings)
3. Send plain text with html version of the message, or just html or just plain
4. Import/export into/from a mailing list, merging new and removing duplicates
5. A 'do not send' marker for each mailing list. Not just an unsubscribe but a marker that says the recipient does not want any further communication by email
6. Email personalisation
7. Ability to paste/edit html source into an email template
8. Groups or a filtering method within a mailing list to be able to send to a subset of a mailing list.

Thanks Nigel

That's great

I'm off on holidays for a while not but will try the demo out when I return.

Hi Paul

MLK can meet all of these requirements. Specific responses listed below...

> 1. Have separate mailing lists, and groups within those lists

You can have as many mailing lists as you like in MLK, and optionally every mailing list can have different settings

> 2. Send to an external smtp server per mailing list (each list can have it's own smtp settings)

Yes, go into View>Options, Other, Advanced, you will find an option, "Use a different configuration for each Mailing List database"

You can then configure different servers for each mailing list DB

> 3. Send plain text with html version of the message, or just html or just plain

Yes, that's handled automatically (or manually)

> 4. Import/export into/from a mailing list, merging new and removing duplicates

Yes, all supported

> 5. A 'do not send' marker for each mailing list. Not just an unsubscribe but a marker that says the recipient does not want any further communication by email

Yes, you can add them to the never send list, or you can use the unsubscriber blocking option (View>Options, Blocking) to prevent unsubscribers from ever being added back into a list

> 6. Email personalisation

Fully supported, you can use any field of your contact to personalize your messages. You can also use conditional text (i.e. text that is only added if a contact field has a certain field).

> 7. Ability to paste/edit html source into an email template

Fullly supported.

> 8. Groups or a filtering method within a mailing list to be able to send to a subset of a mailing list

Sub-searching is fully supported.
