If your SRD status check results in a "Declined" status, you have the option to appeal the decision. Here’s how to go about it.

First, visit the official SASSA website at https://srd-sassa.org.za/. Look for the section dedicated to appeals, which will guide you through the process. Before you begin, ensure you have all necessary documentation ready, including your ID number, application reference number, and any additional information that might support your appeal.

When filing your appeal, clearly explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. Provide any new or additional information that may not have been included in your original application. This could include updated financial details, proof of unemployment, or other relevant documents.

Submit your appeal within the specified timeframe, usually 30 days from the date of the declined status. Once submitted, you can track the progress of your appeal by performing another SRD status check on the website.

It’s essential to be thorough and prompt during the appeal process to increase your chances of a successful outcome. If your appeal is approved, you will be notified through the website or via SMS, and your grant payments will resume.
