Posted - Aug 25 2010 : 10:08:03 I converted my camcorder video from MOD format to AVI format using Emicsoft MOD Converter software. I converted it to DivX Video(*.avi). I did this so I can use VrtualDub to remove the audio and cut the junk parts of the video. These are short 10 to 20 second clips I took with my CamCorder at my grandsons football game. I want to make a slideshow using these short clips. For some reason after I add them and I click preview all I get is a black screen. The video doesn't play. Some of my YouTube music videos I download in avi format work fine. JPEG pictures work fine to. But some of my avi video's don't play and one of them plays at a faster speed. Does this program work with some avi formats and not work with other formats such as DVID or whatever its called. I have several options when using Mod Converter when converting to avi files. Don't understand why I'm having this problem. If need be I can convert the DivX avi to another format before using in DVDPixPlay. Please help I'm getting desperate.

Posted - Aug 25 2010 : 16:52:22 I think I got confused about burning to a disc. That was a program called DVD Flick. I opened File and clicked burn disk then clicked Test and it worked OK. I'm going to assume when I do it that way it will work. Thanks for your help. Won't be ready to test my theory until sometime Saturday. I'll let you know what happens.

If DVD PixPlay burned your slideshow to disk without error, then the video format is not relevant.
1. When you selected File > Burn Slideshow what format did you select?
2. What type of disks did you use?
3. What it the brand and model of your DVD player?

Posted - Aug 25 2010 : 13:32:08 I tried burning it to disc but it didn't work in my DVD player. I can convert it to any one of these AVI types. If any of them are the right one that will work with DVDPixplay let me know. What other video formats work with DVDPixplay. Such as MP4, MPEG, WMV, FLV, MOV
AVI-Audio-Video Interleaved (*.avi) HD AVI Video H .264 AVI-Audio-Video Interleaved (*.avi) DivX Video (*.avi) DivX HD Video (*.avi) XviD Video (*.avi) XviD HD Video (*.avi)

Posted - Aug 25 2010 : 12:26:35 Hi Walt
AVI is not one format, but rather a container for a huge variety of formats. Some of these PixPlay supports natively, whereas others require a Windows codec.
The codec is usually only required for preview, so it is likely you can burn your slideshow even if it does not display during preview.
Either convert them from MOV to a different format, such as MPEG or standard AVI, or use the new video conversion functionality in PixPlay to convert the DivX file to standard AVI:
