Hi Nigel
I have almost finalized my latest "masterpiece" but am experiencing some minor glitches with title pages:
These may or may not include several photos but all seem to display differently when shown as follows:
Sometimes the whole title page will be displayed (ie picture(s) and text simultaneously and at other times the pics will show up at first and then the wording will follow, sometimes all at once and at other times almost as if it was being typed.
Another question is if you have two sets of text can you arrange for one to appears first?
Also had a lot of trouble getting the music synchronized with the pictures - I also have video sound with a couple of my clips in my show - would this throw off the timing (ie frame starts at xx, sound file starts at xx but they never matched up in the final burning)?.
Tried synchronizing to specific frame and that didn't seem to work.
Regards

Hello again Nigel
Yes I already had selected DVD on the Title Page.

Now I seem to have another problem which has just cropped up:-
I had burned several discs (on re-writables) to check over the past few weeks until I was satisfied with the end result. All were fine with the minor (very) title page question.
However, I cannot seem to get a clean burn now after doing some minor editing. The process goes all the way through and then does something with "chapters" which I have not selected as I haven't progressed to that stage yet. All of the references to chapters are shown thus 3/1 00, 4/1 00 except there is a second 3/1 which shows 2.936 (?) and then an error message springs up "Error Encountered STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION". Click on OK and the burning continues but the disc will neither play on the computer of TV (it says the disc is incompatible).
I am burning DVD & PC Format.
I tried the e-mail support button but it would not work either.

Hi Hugh

On the bottom left of the Title Page editor please check that the "Design for" setting matches your output, e.g. "DVD" or "Widescreen DVD"

Another possibility is that your screen is not large enough to show the page editor full size and so scaling needs to be used.

When I preview or burn the show the title page text sometimes comes up as a one piece text, other times it comes up as if it is being typed several rows at a time.
It does create rather a nice effect so I am not too concerned about it.

Hi Hugh

Can you remind me about the differing text issue.

Strangely enough I can no longer repeat the ampersand issue either - perhaps a glitch or my "fat" fingers were doing something untoward.
Still getting the differing text issues on the title pages but as said no big deal - rather a unique display actually.
Thanks again for your help!

Hi Hugh

I can't reproduce the ampersand issue. Can you give me the steps?

Hi Hugh

I assume if you specify two ampersands (&&) then it works correctly.

I'll need to investigate this.

Thanks for getting back to me Nigel.
As I said the "problems" are no big deal - I just wondered if there was an easy way around them.
To answer your questions:
1 - First noticed when I played the show back on the DVD - actually it adds another element to the presentation.
2 - Have now combined the text to eliminate that problem
3 - Music was out of "sync" when I both previewed and played - what I finally did was add the music one piece at a time, double checked the preview and then went on to the next piece and repeat, adding time to the slide display time until it got synchronized. The display time shown for the frame did not seem to relate to the music time.
Off topic - how do you get an ampersand (&) to display in text?

Hi Hugh

Issue 1 sounds like a performance issue while outputting a reveal effect. Is this when you preview the slideshow, playback your disk or both?

2. You can't have multiple reveal sequences at this time

3. So the music plays back correctly when you preview the slideshow, but is out of time when you play your created disk?

Have you seen this FAQ:
