Posted - May 10 2010 : 00:23:02 I recently made some changes in my project setup and now can't get the screensize to match when I import into Pinnacle. I'm using 4:3 and while it worked perfectly for my first test clips, now I get black bars on the sides. Can't do anything to change that.
Thanks for your help. |

Posted - May 10 2010 : 12:23:01 If your video appears normal and you get bars on the side, then presumably your images are too narrow and you need to crop more from the top and/or bottom of the image.
You can do this manually using Edit > Remove Borders or automatically by selecting Frame > Frame Properties, "Remove Borders" tab and tweaking the automatic cropping option.

Posted - May 10 2010 : 03:53:16 Hey. tried all combinations possible. at 1:1, 4:3, wide - with the result that on 4:3 I get skinny people and on 1:1 I get bars on the side, no matter whether adjusted for DVD players, square or rechtangular pixels, but as I wrote, a normal video on media players. I did save all my test projects that worked, but when I open them now an make my file again, it does what I don't want or need. I am already re-doing the slideshow on pinnacle, but still wonder, what in the world happened? |

Posted - May 10 2010 : 01:37:56 Hi
So you get black bars on the sides because the content is being squashed horizontally (i.e. people and objects appear too skinny)?
What is your setting under View > Options, Other, Advanced for:
"Improve aspect ratio of slideshows on DVD players"

Posted - May 10 2010 : 01:24:49 at 1:1 the show displays on mediaplayer correctly, but shows sidebars when imported into pinnacle, at 4:3 the show is squished vertically. at widescreen the show is widened as one would expect. |
