Have used pixplay many times and have had no problems burning DVDs.
Have played these dvds on my own Sony player and many others.
This time although the discs will play on my PC they will not play on my dvd player.
Set-up I am using is Burn slide show to disk, Widescreen Pal, Output quality Standard, Clicking on test it will go through sequence and run through slide show OK. When burning is complete Dvd will run on my PC OK.
Checking properties of disk it is - CD Drive, File system UDF. ( same as previous dvds that work ok ).
Have tried DVD and PC burning option and it also will not work on DVD player and only gives sound on PC.
Disks I am using are Maxwell and are the same as used successfully.
Only difference to my Knowledge is I have upgraded to your latest release.
Have used your software many times.
This slide show is all videos with one Photo clip and the end

release on my system , that wiil not work with Sony ,is 4.05,
Release that is OK is 4.00.
Have decided to go back to 4.00 for now as I have a lot of slide shows to prepare and 4.00 does what I want.
Will carry on for a few months and then give it another try with your latest release at that time.
A bit more info is that when burning with 4.05 the Refresh burner list takes 124 seconds to come up as compared with 3seconds with 4.00.
Have checked in depth all the settings and as far as I can tell they are the same for both releases
Have a good holiday

Hi Terry

That is interesting. What i need to know is:

- What was the old version?
- Were your PixPlay settings and slideshow exactly the same both times?
- PixPlayLog.txt files please from old and new burn

Restored Computer back to 9th Oct. Tried burning again and when transfered the disk worked OK on the Sony .
To double check have completed another three Slideshows, again all OK.
Went back and restored to original point and tried again and sure enough any slide shows created will not work on the sony.

Hi Terry

The latest is v4.07 which was released Dec. 23. However we haven't made any changes since v4.01 which should affect compatibility.

When did you release the latest upgrade.
I am going to try restoring my computer prior to the date that I downloaded that upgrade.
As stated before I think the DVD'S were playing ok on my Sony prior to this release.

Shot in the dark , is it worth the try??

Hi Nils

That player should be full compatible as long you do not use RW format disks:

Have you tried using different types and brands of disks?

I am having exactly the same problem. - I am evaluating both dijialbum as well as pixplay and cannot get the dvd format to play on my unit. as a matter of fact the only think I can get to work is VCD format.

My DVD player is a Panasonic DMR-E75V

I had previously 'testdriven' an older version of Pixplay and had no problem playing the DVD it created at that time...

looking forward to your suggestions,

Nils

Nigel/Jim

Have changed setting in advanced options from Mpeg Layer 2 to AC3 to no avail.
The DVD will still not work on my Sony. They also then will not play on the computer.
Tracking back I then brought up old Slide shows what I had previously burnt and played successfully on the Sony Having burnt them again, with the option reset to Mpeg they will not play. Although the originals still work ok.

To add to the mystery we have tried the non playing DVd disc on 10 other makes of DVD players and they play OK.

Nigel, I upgraded to the latest release and the compatibility problem seems to have occurred from then on.
Is there any chance that something in that release causing the compatibility problem with the Sony?
I cannot change the Sony, as it is a surround sound system, which I do not want to lose. But if I cannot play the Pixplay play DVD.s on it I have a major problem

Hi Terry

That player should be fully compatible, that I note at least one other person reports it does not play burned media:

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers/sony-dav-sa30/2754

Only other thing i can think of is changing the MPEG audio option in Advanced Options.

Jim

We have a compatibility problem with my Sony DAV- SA30 AV System. Disk work on neighbours JVC and Panasonic DVD player. Plus my Computer with Window media
Have tried using another brand of Disc. Same problem
Mystery is I have used software many, many times in the past and have had no problem with my Sony DVD player. I am using same Maxwell disk with same Pixplay settings, i.e. DVD format (for Dvd players), Pal, Wide screen.
Have also tried PC and DVD setting which will only play audio on my PC and states wrong type of disk on the SONY.

I will email Pixplay log to Nigel when I have his email address.

The only thing that has changed to my knowledge is that this is the first time I have tried using the new release

Nigel
All previous dvds burnt with Pixplay play ok with Sony. I have burnt four disks for this slide show . All have the same problem Let me have you email and I will post log

Hi Terry

Did you try the "DVD" only format?

What is the brand and model of the DVD player you are testing the disk in?

TERRY

Do you have another DVD player to test them on? Have you tried playing a previously recorded PIXPLAY disc on the player or a used a "store bought " DVD on the player?

Sometimes a disc maybe bad ---trying using a different disc or even a different brand and see if it works then.

Since it plays on the PC ---it would indicate a problem with the media itself or the DVD player.

Can you please re-do a burn in DVD PixPlay and e-mail Nigel the following file:

C:\Program Files\DVD PixPlay\PixPlayLog.txt
