When burning slide show to dvd disc for usage on PC I find it works ok when played on my Pc but will not play on my friends.
They do not have the Pix play software loaded.
I note that anuhea has made some remark concerning this . To burn a slideshow to a disk for playing on another PC should I select Other Video file and MPEG? |

Unable to answer your question ref my friends system.
Have overcome problem by Burning all Discs in dvd format which will play on TV and (using media player) on his computer

Hi Terry
So the PC format slideshow was the one that failed? That is very unusual. When you say failed, do you mean that it did not auto-play? Or it played and got an error? Or the disk was totally blank?
If you examine the disk with Explorer on his system what files does it contain? What happens if you double-click PxpViewer.exe?
What version of Windows does your friend have?

Thanks for your fast responce
Surprise ? I burnt a dvd in dvd format and it played On my friends Dvd/Tv and also on his Computer.
Then I burnt another in DVD compliant MPEG which worked on his Computer using Media player.
To double check I burnt another disk using Pc Format. Again although it works on my system it will not work on my friends Computer.
Not a major problem as he can view on both Tv and computer using the dvd format disk.
I think in future if I am burning for use on other computers I will use DVd compliant MPEG. Do you agree |

Hi Terry
DVD PixPlay does not need to be installed for its disks to playback. In fact it in no way interacts with the playback of disks on a PC.
Most likely their system does not support the disk type they used (e.g. DVD+R disks on a drive that only plays DVD-R format) or they do not have DVD playing software on their computer.
If you are creating disks soley for playing on PC you should use the "PC" format. Otherwise DVD + PC covers most of your bases well.

Slideshow Format:
Select your desired slideshow format:
DVD: Native DVD movie format. Compatible with all players that support writable disks
PC: Primarily for creating disk for auto-playback on computers (though some DVD players can display JPEG images)
DVD+PC:
Creates a combined DVD and PC format slideshow that offers the best compatibility and quality on both PC's and DVD players
VCD: Has the widest compatibility of CD formats, but the quality is not as good as SVCD
SVCD: Has better quality than VCD but takes up more space on the CD than VCD
XVCD: Has the best quality (equivalent to a DVD) but takes up more space on the CD and is less compatible
XSVCD: Similar to XVCD format (equivalent quality to a DVD) but uses SVCD compatibility
YouTube Video File:
Creates a video file suitable for uploading to YouTube (to share with others on the Internet)
Other Video File:
Mainly for creating disk for auto-playback on computers, though supported by many DVD players too
