Posted - Aug 08 2008 : 10:35:00 I receive the email notification of new postings to the PixPlay group. Rarely I receive one notification but usually receive many notifications of the same new posting. The latest example is 2961 (Posted - Aug 05 2008 : 16:28:31) of which I have had nine emails and still counting.
Is it possible to send each new notification only once?
[I can give many examples with dates and times if you need that to sort out this problem].

Posted - Aug 11 2008 : 01:46:47 Thank you Jim for the explanation. I have reviewed the emails received - and read them properly rather than just going to the link.
As you realised I was viewing the links only daily and when there were multiple replies on the same day there appeared to be superfluous emails.
This group's help system has worked well for me and some of the other problems discussed are interesting. Now I realise what has been happening, I will not unsubscribe. Thank you again

Posted - Aug 10 2008 : 15:17:23 With the forum you can either subscribe to a particular message (useful for seeing when someone replies to your message) or you can subscribe to the whole forum (which can be overwhelming when the forum is busy).
If you have difficulty unsubscribing from the forum let me know.

You say that you receive email notification of new posting ---this is the way the system works.
If someone has a question and there are 8 different replies to that question, than you will be notified 8 times. One for each reply.
So you will receive an email for every question that is asked and an email for each answer given for that question.
So I would recommend you unsubscribe ---there have been some questions with over a 20 REPLIES!!!!!

Posted - Aug 09 2008 : 11:06:32 Hi
As a relatively inexperienced user of PixPlay I have found some of the new topics to have an educational value and receiving a notification of them prompts me to look!
However I find the multiple notifications so annoying that if they can not be fixed I will unsubscribe.
Is it possible that I can take this up elsewhere? Who does have some control?

Posted - Aug 09 2008 : 01:27:32 Hi Ray
Those responses are handled automatically by this forum, it's not something we have much control over, i'm afraid.
