CardCheck is an application for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP that verifies credit card numbers to ensure they are genuine. CardCheck can check card numbers individually or in batches. It can even be run automatically from another program. CardCheck supports: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club and Discover cards. It performs three functions: 1. It checks the number of digits Credit cards can have either 13, 15 or 16 digits. CardCheck ensures the right amount of numbers have been supplied for that card type.
Each Credit card type has a unique leading digit (or digits). CardCheck ensures the correct initial digit(s) for that card type.
All credit cards contain a checksum, which is used to ensure the numbers in the credit card are correct. CardCheck calculates the appropriate checksum for the number and compares the two to ensure the supplied number has valid number structure.NOTE: CardCheck is NOT foolproof.
