What would happen if I stored my textlightning database in OneDrive or dropbox (or even a shared folder on my lan). It is unlikely we would simultaneously modify it, but if we did, would anything drastically bad happen, or just the last write wins?

How frequently is the database read?

Hi Doug

The database is used frequently so I doubt the performance would be good enough to have it on a remote drive. You'd be better to have the database local, but sync at a specific time (e.g. once a day, or whenever Outlook is shutdown).

But feel free to test it and prove me wrong

Doug, can you share with me how to move the database folder? I see it only with read-only option

Thanks

Riccardo

Hi Riccardo

In the registry, you can specify an alternative folder for Text Lightning to read the database, however, it cannot be a cloud based folder:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xequte\Text Lightning
