I would like my assistant to have the same text lightning as me. Would it work to store the database and stuff in dropbox? or on a network share (which would break when I am working disconnected from the network.

Text Lightning won't support multiple users accessing the same database simultaneously, and also it needs to be stored on a fast local drive.

I think TL stopped working for both of us when I used a non-default folder.

Do you think two different outlook users can use the same database?

Hi Doug

In what way did the sync not work?

Now I have help not on my LAN. we can share with Microsoft OneDrive.

Can I sync my database to one drive, and my help sync it (one way) to their drive?

The attachments are what worries me, since they are on my W: drive.

I justed tested it and it did work. I used Synctoy from microsoft https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15155 to copy them, when Outlook is closed. Sync will have to be a one way street, which is ok.

Hi Doug

All those files should be copied.

Hi Nigel,

which files in C:\Users\doug\AppData\Local\Xequte\Text Lightning should I synchronize?

Does the Database Path reg value point to just the datbase, ro or to all settings in C:\Users\doug\AppData\Local\Xequte\Text Lightning?

Hi Doug

TXL needs quick access to a database, so a remote database won't cut it. It will need to be on a fast shared drive, or a local folder.

If you both want dual access to the same database from different locations, you might consider using some method to synchronize the databases.
