Dear Xequte Software User,

If you have a business, December can be either the busiest or the slowest time of the year.  Retailer stores will have booming sales leading up to Christmas, but those that only service other businesses may find themselves twiddling their thumbs.  We are fortunate to cover both bases; while sales of our business products might drop off for a bit, our consumer products keep us ticking over.

Our biggest seller in December is always DVD PixPlay as many people rush to create slideshow disks to show when friends and family visit, or to give as gifts.  This year we don't want you to leave it to the last minute so till the end of November we have a special offer to upgrade or buy DVD PixPlay (details below).

We also have a fantastic new release of MailList King...

Regards

* Program Tips

- MailList King: Staying Onside with your ISP

Many MailList King customers use their ISP's mail server to send their newsletters.  But what do you do when your ISP imposes usage limits, such as no more than 200 messages per hour, or no bulk sending between 9am and 9pm?

With v7.0 we've made it much easier to stay within your ISP's limits with a selection of options that throttle down the speed at which your messages are sent and disable delivery at certain times and/or days.

You'll find the new "ISP Sending Limits" settings by clicking "Other Sending Options" under View > Options, Sending.

- DVD PixPlay: Cut, Copy and Paste

Many people like to use Cut, Copy and Paste to move and copy files in Windows Explorer.  If that includes you, then you'll be happy to know that you can do this with DVD PixPlay too:

  1. You can copy files from Windows Explorer (Ctrl+C) and paste them into your DVD PixPlay project (Ctrl+V)
  2. You can reorder files in your DVD PixPlay project, by cutting them from their old location (Ctrl+X) and pasting them to a new one (Ctrl+V)

- Amaze: Enabling the "Pile of Pictures" effect

I was having a look at the Playstation 3 the other day (at this stage I seem to desire it more than my kids, so it is hard to justify it to my wife).  The salesman was waxing lyrical about the slideshow with a "Pile of Pictures" effect (which layers successive images as if they are photographs being dropped onto a pile).

Very nice, but Amaze has had that effect since 2003 (Here's a Screenshot).

To enable this effect, choose the "Pile of Pix" option under "Slideshow Style"

- Smart Pix/MegaView: Printing at Standard Photo Sizes

If you are giving photo frames this year, don't forget to fill them with a picture of the kids.  Smart Pix and MegaView can both print images at all standard photo frame sizes.  Simply select the images to print, click File > Print and then choose the size to print at from the "Image Size" drop down list.

- Diji Album: Selecting Multiple Objects

If you want to move or copy multiple objects at once, you can easily select them all by holding down the shift key as you click on them.  You can also drag your mouse across the page to lasso your objects.
